Martha Waldvogel — Harpist, Therapeutic Musician & Educator
Martha Waldvogel is an accomplished harpist and certified therapeutic music practitioner whose work unites musical artistry with evidence-informed approaches to healing. With performance credits across the United States, Europe, and Asia, she is known for her expressive tone, technical mastery, and emotionally resonant playing. Her performances as a soloist with the Grand Rapids Ballet were praised by the Grand Rapids Press as “heroic.”

Martha is a Certified Therapeutic Harp Practitioner (CTHP) with additional training as a
Vibroacoustic Therapeutic Music Practitioner (VATMP), offering modalities that support pain
relief, nervous system regulation, and deep relaxation. In her clinical and studio work, she
integrates resonance, acoustics, and intentional listening to help clients experiencing physical
and emotional challenges—including chronic pain, trauma, anxiety, and grief. A passionate
educator, Martha brings more than 15 years of university-level teaching experience to her work,
in addition to her thriving private studio.

While residing in Switzerland for 12+ years, Martha taught in music schools in the Zurich
region, and led harp ensembles both abroad and in the United States. She also serves as one of the primary instructors of the International Harp Therapy Program, where she teaches Resonant Kinesiology, Music Theory, and mentors students to become practicing therapeutic musicians. Her teaching style blends compassion, technical clarity, and a strong focus on developing each student’s intuitive connection to the instrument.

In 2020, Martha founded Harp Source, expanding access to harp therapy through recordings,
workshops, speaking engagements, and a wide spectrum of therapeutic music sessions,
showcasing the vibroacoustic method. Her mission is to guide musicians and listeners into a
deeper understanding of how sound, intention, and vibration can restore balance and ease.

Martha is honored to join the Midwest Harp Festival faculty, where she will share practical
skills, therapeutic techniques, and embodied musicianship with students seeking to explore the
profound capacity of the harp to comfort, transform, and heal.
