3 WAYS YOU CAN HELP YOURSELF RAISE THE FUNDS TO ATTEND THE 10TH ANNUAL MIDWEST HARP FESTIVAL 

 The Midwest Harp Festival wants to be sensitive to the fact that the difficult economy has had an affect on most everyone in the world. This in mind, we would like to give you 3 ways to help you attend the festival this year.  One is for returning registrants only and the other two are for anyone.

The three categories are:

• Recruitment
• Donations toward your tuition and campus housing
• Advertising for the Festival concert booklet

 Recruitment

For every student or adult that attends because of your invitation, you will receive $50.00 off your tuition.  The new person cannot have attended the MWHF before.

Attached is a form letter for you to use for harp student friends, students and teachers your teacher knows, or randomly across your state or the U.S.

Make as many copies as you need.  If you would prefer to write your own letters or e-mails that is fine as well but you must have a space on each contact item with your name on it so we can keep track of your recruitments.  Make sure your name is on the letter so we can give you the deserved tuition credit.

Some sources for contacts are in the American Harp Society Directory, web sites, the Harp Column site, www.harpblog.info, etc.  Local AHS chapters are also good resources.

 DONATION LETTER FOR FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND AQUAINTANCES

This is an opportunity for family members or friends to support your continued musical training on the harp by attending the Midwest Harp Festival this year.  As little as $10 from grandparents or a friend of the family can add up to help supplement much of your tuition and housing.

Attached is a sample letter or you may choose to acquire donations in another fashion.

If you are from out of town, your local businesses would not benefit from advertising in Tulsa, however, you could contact other nationally recognized music businesses that have web sites or would be directly related to the harp business such as Sylvia Woods in California, Kolacny Music in Denver, Woodwind and Brasswind in Indiana, etc.  Personal music web sites may also benefit from advertising in our program book.  The vendors who have their logos on our web site do not have their ad in the program book.

If you are from Tulsa, you can approach local vendors such as dry cleaners, locally run restaurants, etc.  Take a program book with you to show them the product them how their advertising would look.  They can even put a coupon for their business in the program book.

For every dollar of advertising you sell you will receive 10% toward your tuition.

What you should tell the business:

• The ads will run for the 4 concerts during the Midwest Harp Festival week, reaching a minimum of 500 people.  A minimum of 3 more concert programs will be printed during the 2009-2010 year from September through June, reaching another minimum of 500 people.

• In the past, our varietal audience members have consisted of families, students, seniors, local music professionals, and music enthusiasts.

• The program dimensions are 4 1/4" X 5 1/2

• Your sales will supplement your tuition to the 11^th Annual Midwest Harp Festival in 1010

• Below is the link to the  sales sheet that should be filled out and submitted to the Festival no later than July 1.  The details for the business to submit their ad is on the order form.  Be sure your name is attached to your orders so you can receive tuition credit for your efforts.  Sales Sheet in PDF
